After the application deadline/written test, it could take several weeks before an offer of employment is extended.   It will vary depending upon such factors as, number of applications/resumes to screen, hiring supervisor’s timeframe for reviewing applications and interviewing the selected candidates.  Recruitments for non-uniform positions which involve only a small number of applicants may allow the hiring authority to complete the interviews and make a job offer within a few weeks.  However, because a non-uniformed position eligibility list may be utilized for up to 6 months (more if approved by the HR Director), offers of employment may be made for the duration of the eligibility list.
