The City of Little Rock has received notice that it will receive $175,000 in
Recovery grant funds to purchase items to partially rehab the new
CENTRAL ARKANSAS HOMELESS DAY RESOURCE CENTER

The new Central Arkansas Homeless Day Resource Center, located at 3008
Confederate Boulevard, in Little Rock, will feature comprehensive Case
Management Services to assist individuals and families who are homeless with
employment assistance, housing, and referrals to medical, dental, mental health
and substance abuse treatment services provided by an existing network of
service providers. The Center will also provide laundry facilities, shower
facilities, and areas for safe storage of belongings while those who are homeless
seek employment and schedule medical appointments, etc.

The Center will be base on models implemented in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Austin,
Texas, which have outstanding success rates in assisting people in obtaining
employment and permanent housing.

Plans call for the Center to be operational in the early part of 2012.

ARRA grant money will be used to purchase items to partially refurbish the
building which was recently purchased by the City of Little Rock. Other grant
funds and money from North Little Rock and other entities will be used to
upgrade the facilities.
