City of Little Rock Facebook Comments Policy
The City of Little Rock welcomes your comments on the City of Little Rock's Facebook Page.
The purpose of this City of Little Rock Facebook Page is to present matters of public interest to the City's many residents, businesses and visitors. The City encourages you to submit your questions, comments, and feedback regarding the topics presented, but please note this is a moderated discussion Site. Comments and information submitted by the members of the public must be directly related to the content of the topics posted by the City of Little Rock. Submission of comments and information by members of the public constitutes participation in a limited public forum.
Being a government site, anything you post can be disclosed under the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act. Additionally, by posting on this Site, you grant the City of Little Rock, or anyone authorized by the City, a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to use, copy, modify, transmit, sell, exploit, create derivative works from, distribute, and publicly perform or display such material, in whole or in part, in any manner or medium (whether now known or hereafter developed), for any purpose the City chooses. Also, in connection with the exercise of these rights, you grant the City of Little Rock, and anyone authorized by the City of Little Rock, the right to identify you as the author of any of your postings or submissions by name, email address or screen name, as we deem appropriate. All submissions to the City's Facebook Site shall be clearly identified and an e-mail address provided. Anonymous posting shall not be allowed. You will not receive any compensation of any kind whatsoever for the use of any materials submitted by you.
Comments and information submitted to the City of Little Rock Facebook Site may be edited by an authorized City of Little Rock Facebook moderator. All comments and other information shall be reviewed and approved by an authorized City Facebook moderator before posting to the City's Facebook Site.
This City of Little Rock Facebook Comments Policy is subject to the City's records retention policies. Any comment or information submitted for posting that are deemed not suitable for posting by a City of Little Rock Facebook moderator because it is not topically related to the particular City Facebook article being commented upon, or because it is deemed prohibited based upon the criteria set forth in this Facebook Comments Policy, may be retained pursuant to the City's records retention policies, along with a description of the reason the specific comment or information is deemed not suitable for posting on the Site.
Once posted, the City reserves the right to restrict or delete comments or information that contain vulgar or obscene language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, or religious group. Further, the City also reserves the right to restrict or delete comments or information that:
1. is spam or includes links to other sites;
2. is off topic;
3. is threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, pornographic,
profane or indecent information or comments;
4. is sexually oriented or has links to sexually oriented content;
5. is information that may tend to compromise the safety or security
of the public or public systems;
6. advocates illegal activity or violates applicable law;
7. promotes particular services, products, or political organizations;
8. advertises or solicits to anyone to buy or sell products or services,
or to make donations of any kind, without the City's prior express written approval;
9. promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of
race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to
public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation;
10. infringes upon the rights of others, including material that is an invasion of privacy or
publicity rights or that is protected by copyright,trademark or other proprietary right,
or derivative works with respect thereto, without first obtaining permission from the
owner or rights holder; or
11. uses personally identifiable medical information. The City recommends you not share
any or your medical information on the City's Facebook Page.
By accessing and using any feature of the City of Little Rock's Facebook Page, you represent and agree that you will not:
1. use the Site to impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or otherwise
misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity;
2. gather for marketing purposes any email addresses or other personal information
posted by other users of the Site;
3. engage in personal attacks, harass or threaten, or deliberately inflame or disrupt
the conversation, or air personal grievances about other users; or
4. take or cause to be taken any action that disrupts the normal flow of postings and
dialogue on the City's Facebook Page (such as submitting an excessive number
of messages, i.e. a flooding attack).
The City reserves the right to deny access to the City's Facebook Page to anyone who violates this Facebook Comments Policy.
