The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 was signed by President Barack Obama on February 17, 2009. This legislation provides a nearly $800 billion boost to the American economy. It includes funds to upgrade infrastructure, enhance energy independence, expand educational opportunities, preserve and improve affordable health care, provide tax relief, and protect those in greatest need.

This website is provided as a public service so Little Rock citizens can understand where the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 dollars are allocated and how the funds are utilized to benefit the City of Little Rock and its citizens.

Mayor Mark Stodola, the City Board of Directors, City Manager Bruce T. Moore, and the City of Little Rock employees are committed to ensuring that the public is fully aware of the stimulus dollars Little Rock receives. This is the public’s money, so the City wants to ensure that citizens know where the money is going and how it is being spent.

Each week, the Mayor and City Manager meet with representatives from City Departments and other local public agencies to discuss Little Rock’s participation in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The purpose of these meetings is to manage the development of local infrastructure projects financed through the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. It serves as a center for cross-agency coordination as the City of Little Rock and other City-based entities secure federal Recovery and Reinvestment dollars and track those expenditures.
